Ruthie and Tom’s love story began during the holidays. Tom had messaged Ruthie on Match.com about what kind of snowshoes to buy. Tom also told Ruthie he had a four-season tent but no one to winter camp with! Ruthie was hooked when he said four seasons.
With both having a love for the outdoors, they knew they wanted to get married in a National Park. Ruthie quickly fell in love with the idea of eloping at Grand Teton National Park.
Fast forward to September 14th, 2020, I met Ruthie and Tom for a sunrise hike at Jenny Lake to kick off their elopement adventure. They were ready to go with their wedding attire and Osprey hiking packs. We started off the hike at the Jenny Lake Trailhead and headed up to Inspiration Point. Along the journey, they stopped and took in several beautiful scenes such as Cascade Creek, the Chasm Bridge, and the Hidden Falls.
After the hike, Ruthie headed to Elevation Hair Studio in Jackson for her hair & makeup appointment with the talented Kelly Rene (@kellyrene.hair). Ruthie also got dressed at the salon in her surprise wedding dress for Tom She surprised Tom at the Teton village with a stunning first look. Tom looked super classy in a navy suit and a Stetson fedora.
At sunset, on the most beautiful Fall day, Ruthie & Tom tied the knot at the gorgeous Schwabacher Landing in Grand Teton National Park. They incorporated their Christian faith with a streamside foot washing ceremony, exchanged vows, and popped some champagne surrounded by the beautiful Teton wilderness. After their ceremony, we explored around the landing for photos and then headed up to the Snake River Overlook for blue hour. From sunup to sundown they were able to have the elopement day they had been dreaming of!
I hope that reading their story and seeing what an elopement day can look like can give you the inspiration to plan your dream day. Congrats once again Ruthie & Tom.
