Eloping in the fall in Crested Butte, Colorado is a dream come true for many couples. The beautiful golden aspen trees, crisp air, and snow-capped mountains provide the perfect backdrop for a romantic elopement. Karah and Taylor chose to elope in mid-September when the aspen leaves were beginning to turn a beautiful golden hue.
Their elopement day began at a luxurious log cabin, just outside of Crested Butte, as both of their families gathered for brunch and getting ready. This was a destination elopement for the couple, who traveled all the way from Minnesota, so it was nice for them to have a chill morning with both of their families before the ceremony.
After a relaxing morning of preparation, everyone adventured up Gothic Road to witness Karah and Taylor’s exchange of heartfelt vows. As their families gathered, a moose appeared in the distance creating a beautiful and wild backdrop for the newlyweds’ vows. A little later, I joined Karah and Taylor in their Tacoma, exploring some 4×4 roads before stopping along the highway to take in the last light. The sun setting over the Crested Butte Valley was breathtaking.
Back at the cabin, their family had prepared cocktails and the Crested Butte Catering Company presented a farm-to-table dinner. As the night ended, Karah and Taylor shared a romantic first dance, surrounded by love and happy tears.
